I have registered for the Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Association. Why am I not coming up in the ASI Alumni Chapter Directory?Many Cal Poly Pomona alumni have registered for the Alumni Association but are signed up under another chapter or have not chosen a chapter to be affiliated with. To switch chapters or to add ASI Alumni Chapter to the alumni chapters you are registered for, you may call the Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Affairs office at (909) 869-2963 or toll free at (866) CPP- ALUM, or you may e-mail the office at cpalumni@csupomona.edu. Becoming a part of the ASI Alumni Chapter is easy, you can even do it online right now! Become a member today by first joining the Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Association, and then you need to select the ASI Alumni Chapter as your chapter affiliation. Click here. There are four forms of membership as stated in the ASI Alumni Chapter By-laws:
ARTICLE II – MEMBERSHIP
Section A. Membership: Membership in this chapter shall be of three types: active, associate, and honorary. All members shall be entitled to the following:
4. The right to participate in all general meetings.
5. The receipt of official chapter communications.
6. Any additional privileges prescribed by the ASI Alumni Chapter Executive Board.
Section B. Active Membership: Any person who has graduated from or matriculated in California State Polytechnic University, Pomona for a period of at least one quarter, and who is not currently enrolled as an undergraduate student shall be eligible to apply for active membership. Active members shall be entitled to the right to vote and hold office. Section C. Honorary Membership: The ASI Alumni Chapter Executive Board may award honorary membership to any person who has made outstanding contributions to ASI or Cal Poly Pomona. The individual pays no dues. Honorary life members, who are alumni (as defined by section B), have full active membership privileges. Non-alumni can receive an honorary membership, without the right to vote and hold office. Section D. Associate Membership: Anyone not eligible for “active” membership as described above may become an associate member. These members do not have the right to vote and hold office. This category typically includes: spouses/partners of active members; students; ASI professional staff who previously worked or are currently working at ASI, served on ASI Senate and Committees, or University staff who provided advising to ASI Student Leaders; or others who have been approved by the ASI Alumni Chapter Executive Board.
